March 30, 2018 - Spotlights

Latisha McQueen, Journeyman/Journeywoman Carpenter, Local 327

What associations or organizations are you a member of? United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #327, NERCC, NERCC Sisters in the Brotherhood

Advice/Keys to Success: First, know and believe your worthy of being a part of the team. There is mandatory schooling/training every union carpenter attends. If you succeeded at that, congratulations. Be a part of the solution, not the problem. Maneuvering around the positives and negatives of the construction field can help you see the bigger picture. Remain focused on your task/job. Every trade has a job to perform, I’m not going to tell a plumber or electrician how to do their job. I do not have that knowledge. Vice Versa. I stay within my realm. Keep your mind focused on your task at hand. It can be difficult enough dealing with weather and worksite conditions. It is best to stay focused on your eight hour. Lastly, Speak up for what is right, fair and just.
