Ceebraid-Signal donates site to St. Luke's LifeWorks

Stamford, CT A unique partnership forged between St. Luke's LifeWorks, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support services and housing assistance to those facing homelessness, and Ceebraid-Signal, the developer of Stamford's Highgrove condominium, will result in up to 30 units of affordable housing for the city of Stamford.

Ceebraid-Signal has donated the site of its current sales center for Highgrove, a .3-acre parcel of land on Summer St, appraised at $2 million, to St. Luke's LifeWorks. The nonprofit organization is using the land as collateral to raise the pre-development money it requires to move forward with plans to construct the affordable housing on property it currently owns in the south end of Stamford.

In accordance with Stamford's regulations, Ceebraid-Signal was required to construct 22 units of affordable housing in the city after receiving approvals to construct Highgrove condominium at Forest and Grove Sts. Highgrove is an 18-story residential tower comprised of 93 condominiums designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

Through the partnership between Ceebraid-Signal and St. Luke's LifeWorks, plans to fulfill the city's affordable housing obligation exceed the minimum requirement of 22 units, with the expectation of constructing up to 30 units of off-site affordable housing.

The partnership with Ceebraid-Signal could result in a 40% increase in the overall housing stock St. Luke's has available to it for permanent supportive housing.
