Boston, MA Richard Purtell, RPA, portfolio manager, Grubb & Ellis Management Services, Inc., BOMA/Greater Cincinnati, has been named chairman and chief elected officer of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) International. Purtell was sworn in at the 2008 BOMA International Conference and The Office Building Show in Denver. His term runs through June 2009.

Purtell has been an active member of BOMA at the local, regional and international levels since 1982. He served as president of BOMA Greater Cincinnati (1990-1991); president of Ohio BOMA (1994-1995 and 2006); BOMA International executive committee member and president of BOMA International's North Central Region (1995-1999); chair of the Industry Defense Fund Committee and as secretary/treasurer of BOMA International (2002-2005).
