Southern Connecticut BOMA President's Message

Oh, what a night! On October 30th, over 250 Southern CT BOMA members and guests attended the Annual TOBY Awards Dinner at The Inn at Longshore to honor six local properties for excellence in property management and to honor four members for their work and commitment to the Association. Winning a TOBY was: 274 Riverside Dr., Soundview Plaza, 801 Main Ave., Landmark Square, Cartus, and 100 Mill Plain Rd. Congratulations to these six outstanding buildings and the management teams responsible for the TOBY Award. The 2008 Honorees were: Jodi Gutierrez, Member of the Year, Paul Senecal, Allied Member of the Year, Building and Land Technology, Corporate Honoree of the Year, and Julio Suarez, Engineer of the Year. Thank you to the TOBY Committee and the judges for their hard work on putting together such a great evening. I encourage the six TOBY winners to enter into the Regional TOBY Awards judging. The awards on the regional level will be presented in late March in Washington, D.C. at the National Issues Conference and Mid-Atlantic Conference. Thanks to those 2008 members who have renewed their 2009 dues. I encourage the other members to send in their payment as soon as possible. I also encourage all of the members to join at least one committee. Your involvement in the Association is needed and always appreciated. Committees are a vital part of every good association, and the time spent on a committee is minimal compared to the rewards you will receive.
