RIBA president's message

President Michael Artesani, Sr. W. Artesani & Sons Cranston, RI
President Michael Artesani, Sr. W. Artesani & Sons Cranston, RI

Saving money is always great, but it feels even more satisfying when you save on something you are required by law to have. That's the case with workers' compensation insurance when you take advantage of the Rhode Island Builders Association's endorsed workers' compensation program with The Renaissance Group.

We are well into the second year of this program, and I'm very pleased to say that members are so satisfied with it that renewals from those who participated in the first year were 100% for the second year.

If you're a member of RIBA but not yet part of our workers' compensation program, please consider joining through your current insurance agent.

It's often said that we can accomplish so much more by cooperating as an association than we ever could by acting alone. This insurance program is a prime example of that, and of a win/win situation for your business and for RIBA.

And there's more. In an effort to enhance the value of this program for our members, Renaissance has designed a survey that you already should have received in the mail. The survey's purpose is to help Renaissance develop other lines of insurance, such as auto, liability, inland marine and homeowner's coverage, that RIBA can offer in the future through your independent agent.

For an insurance carrier to provide our members with the best coverage and pricing, Renaissance needs to gather information about policies, premiums and loss history so they can approach potential insurers and get the answers we need. Your participation in the survey will help RIBA offer many new areas of insurance coverage, with pricing advantages through your independent agent, that are beyond those currently available.

If you have not yet received the survey forms in the mail, please contact Jerilyn Houlding at Renaissance, (781) 431-9800 or jerilyn.houlding@renaissanceins.com, as soon as possible.

Please take the time to provide the information requested. If necessary, ask your independent agent to help. The voice of each member is important!

And remember.... Stay safe out there!

Michael Artesani Sr. is president of W. Artesani & Sons, Cranston, and is president of Rhode Island Builders Assn., East Providence.
