RODE Architects completes design of 1,200 s/f at One Beacon Street

RODE Architects, an emerging design firm specializing in architecture for the urban environment, has completed the design of Piperi Mediterranean Grill, a new fast-casual restaurant at One Beacon St. RODE Architects teamed with interior designer Nicole Carroll on the design of the 16-seat restaurant located on the corner of Beacon and Tremont Sts. Completed in December 2012, the project consisted of a full interior renovation, new kitchen, and ventilation systems for the 1,200 s/f restaurant. The exterior of this unique appendage to the adjacent 37-story building remained largely as is, with the addition of new signage adorning the exposed pre-cast façade. RODE Architects coordinated the fit-out in a tight space tucked into the base of this office tower. The restaurant is the first joint venture of executive chef Thomas John and business partner Tim Oliveri. "Piperi Mediterranean Grill is a new way to bring exquisite, international flavors to people who are hungry for food that's as healthy as it is delicious, made fresh and served quickly," said John. "With their thorough, attention to detail on this small yet complex project, RODE Architects helped us realize our dream of creating a cozy eatery that serves healthy meals on-the-go. We look forward to serving downtown Boston in this location for many years to come." Union Construction was the general contractor on the project, and TriMark was the kitchen consultant. CES provided project management services.
