7th Annual Northeast Buildings & Facilities Management Show & Conference

The 7th annual Northeast Buildings & Facilities Management Show & Conference, held June 6th - 7th at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center, was a major success for exhibitors and attendees alike. The tradeshow featured 318 companies exhibiting products & services for the management, operation, renovation and maintenance of all types of buildings and facilities in the Greater New England region.
The event also featured an Educational Conference composed of 30 individual one-hour talks covering a wide range of topics including: energy, building commissioning, renewables, life-safety, emergency management and building maintenance. The Conference was again monitored by members of the Boston Chapter of IFMA.
New this year, YMCA building and property managers congregated in the Convention Center for their Regional Property Management Network Meeting to share insights on managing and maintaining their facilities with each other.
The event was sponsored by: IFMA of Boston (Platinum Sponsor), ABC - New England Chapter, AEE - New England, AFE - Region 8 New England Chapter, ASSE - Greater Boston Chapter, BCxA - Northeast Chapter, BOMA - Boston Chapter, BSA - AIA, CAI - New England Chapter, IREM - Boston Metropolitan Chapter, New England Clean Energy Council & USGBC - Massachusetts.
After the first day, show producer, ProExpos Group, hosted a networking reception giving exhibitors and attendees a chance to meet and discuss the day's events. During the reception, John Wright, owner of ProExpos Group presented Dean Plouffe, district manager, F.W. Webb, with a $5,000 check for bringing the most attendees to the show.
IFMA of Boston will again be awarded a $5,000 college scholarship for it's invaluable seven-year contribution to the overall success of the Show & Conference. IFMA also played host to a post-show cocktail party at the Westin Boston Waterfront Hotel adjoining the Boston Convention Center.
In addition to again producing the Show Program Guide for the event, the New England Real Estate Journal team including: Eric Wilson, John Picard, Wendy Qiu, Sabrina Andrews, Katie Falcone, and Jillian Oakland, and Stanley Hurwitz and Tim D'Auria hosted a Social Media Pavilion on the show floor where exhibitors and attendees could communicate with others via twitter and LinkedIn. We're expecting to expand on the success of the Pavilion in 2013.
