JLL Construction has completed 100,000 s/f interior renovations totaling over $13 million to the Innovation and Design Building, which is anchored by Boston Design Center and is located at Drydock Ave. and Design Center Place.
At the Boston Design Center, JLL Const. performed the interior renovation of all common spaces, including upgrading and revitalizing all aspects of the building. This includes: the main lobby, all corridors and entryways, bathrooms, stairwells, elevators, and a complete HVAC upgrade within multiple tenant spaces.
Additional improvements included new ceilings, lighting, wall covering, flooring, art work, millwork, and new furniture throughout the space. Multiple specialty areas of renovation were also implemented, with a flexible space for pop-ups and a marketplace for antiques
JLL Const. created an extensive phased schedule with multiple shifts and a logistics plan that tightly coordinated with the owner and their tenants. The Boston Design Center was able to remain open and fully operational while all work was being completed.
In other areas at the Innovation and Design Building, JLL Const.completed various projects. This included Jamestown's new Boston corporate office, complete with high end finishes, new infrastructure, AV, IT, security, and renovated bathrooms and elevator lobbies.
In addition to the build out of Jamestown's office, JLL Const. implemented a complete infrastructure re-haul of mechanical systems, duct risers and chiller service for all floors of the building, and renovated all elevators to be consistent with the new building design.
The JLL team was comprised of managing director Peter Stankiewicz, project manager Bill Guzowski, superintendent Niles Carter, and estimator Greg Steele.
