J.M. Electrical Company, Inc. was selected by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) to receive the NECA Safety Excellence Award. The award is presented to member companies who consistently record injury and fatality rates lower than the industry standard and implement internal company safety practices above and beyond basic industry compliance.
"We were very excited and honored to receive this award from a highly respected association within our industry," said Paul Guarracino, president, J.M. Electrical. "J.M. Electrical takes the safety of its employees seriously and promotes that culture through several internal programs intended to educate all of our employees. We are happy to be recognized as a leader in that aspect of our industry."
In an effort to further demonstrate its commitment to safety, J.M. Electrical recently engaged ClickSafety, Inc., a leading online safety training provider, to help the electrical contracting company utilize technology based solutions in addition to their already comprehensive training structure. The program delivers extensive training courses on a variety of subjects from electrical safety to dealing with hazardous materials. The program also lets employees track their results as they continue through the classes in addition to providing a useful tool for management.
"Our new relationship with ClickSafety helped us make updates to our training program to optimize safety, enhance learning and increase productivity among our workers," said Adam Palmer, project manager, J.M. Electrical. "We are always looking to provide additional resources for our employees and better services for our customers, and receiving this award from NECA shows us that we are moving in that direction."
In addition to ClickSafety's online training program, all J.M. Electrical electricians learn their skills at the NECA/IBEW joint training center, which is one of the most intensive electrical training programs in the country. In addition, each electrician completes 10,000 hours of classroom and on-the-job training through the National Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee (NJATC). As a prominent electrical company in the Boston area, and New England's largest provider of specialized electrical construction work, J.M. Electrical Co., Inc. takes the safety of its employees seriously and intends to further promote that culture in the years to come.
