Design/build and renovation/restoration industry professionals are finding ways to keep pace with consumer demands for improved energy efficiency, safety and aesthetic appeal of their buildings. Additionally, a rise in demand for sustainable design, including reducing dependence on artificial lighting, has spurred interest in new window film technologies. Given trends toward expansive fenestration, an overall understanding of window films is essential to stay current with new technologies that provide creative opportunities and solutions for issues inherent with utilizing massive sheets of glass in architecture.

American Window Film, Inc. is offering three AIA approved and accredited, non-commercial presentations on window films for architects, engineers, designers and other real estate industry professionals who require Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) or who simply desire to learn more about the features and benefits that window films offer these industries. Brief descriptions of each of the three one-hour AIA accredited presentations follow:

Solar Window Films: Upon completion, attendees should understand the basics of various types of solar control window film materials, applications and specific benefits. Course material includes CSI specifications and presents the value of solar control films for commercial, retail and residential applications.

Safety and Security Window Films: Upon completion, attendees should understand the basics of safety and security window films, attachment materials and applications. Course material includes descriptions of the benefits of the various types of safety and security films and their attachment systems. Course material also presents CSI specifications and the value of safety and security films for commercial, retail and residential applications.

Daylighting Window Films: Upon completion, attendees should understand the benefits of using natural light. Presentation material includes descriptions of important design considerations for using natural light and different sidelight daylighting strategies. How to evaluate daylighting performance is also included in the presentation.

Education is a beautiful thing. The American Window Film, Inc. team is prepared to help the design/build and renovation/restoration industries staff meet professional certification, consumer and potential LEED Green Building Certification goals. Post presentation, attendees will leave with valuable technical information, window film samples and the forms you will need to apply for your credit.
