Construction Institute 101 - April 18
Construction Institute 101 Educational Series in collaboration with SMPS
April 18, 2018
Our new educational event series called "Construction Institute 101", is designed to bring together everyone who works in, markets and supports the AEC industry -- whether you are brand new in your role or a seasoned professional, this series is for you. Each semester we will present a new session that will dive into a particular facet of the industry. We will discuss how we connect with each other, ways we can better collaborate and gain a general understanding of how we can work together effectively.
Session #3: Technology through the Lifecycle of a Project - What you need to know and how to choose
As technology continues to advance our productivity and communications in the workplace and our lives, so does the plethora of options we must choose from to stay current. How do we decide what we should invest in? This year’s CI 101 educational event will review technology that is currently driving the A/E/C workforce, cutting edge technology gaining traction, and technology on the horizon. We will discuss tools designed to help us manage our workflow more efficiently, communicate with our project teams more effectively, all the while managing big data with quick accessibility and real time group sharing.
In conjunction, we will analyze different user group needs and brainstorm ideas to make project data flow. Imagine if we could create useful and usable information throughout the project that gets carried all the way to the end users, without recreating it each step of the way, in a vacuum?
Please join us in learning what technology could be ideal for your particular discipline and your particular firm. Whether you are looking to become more tech-aware, or already tech-savvy and want to hear what’s next; come join the conversation and help your firm reach higher.
Come and learn about:
- Current industry technology practices from project beginning through ending
- New technologies that are just now being incorporated
- New technologies on the horizon
- BIM’s impact on the built environment and its capabilities
- Other applications for some of these technologies
- How YOU can help!
