Claris Construction completes $3.4m fit-out for General Motors

December 21, 2018 - Connecticut

Danbury, CT Claris Construction, a design build firm, has completed a 25,000 s/f fit-out for General Motors Northeast Headquarters. Claris Construction provided full architectural, engineering, and construction management services for the new location at 44 Old Ridgebury Rd. off of Exit 2 on I-84.

Claris Construction’s architectural team worked with corporate design standards as a guide to create the open concept floor plan that takes advantage of the nearly floor to ceiling glass facade. Included in the floor plan design is designated areas for the companies brands: GMC, Chevrolet, Cadillac, and Buick. Although these areas are separated by design, the overall open floor plan allows for a collaborative environment for team members to easily share ideas.

When a more private meeting is needed, strategically located huddled rooms are available for teams up to six people. The next step up in conference rooms would be the “War Rooms” for up to 12 people, and finally the large 3,000 s/f meeting room that can hold up to 200 people for large regional meetings.

Claris’s project management team completed the $3.4 million fit-out in just under 5 months of construction. They subsequently fit out the rest of the 3rd floor with GM support spaces for their affiliated marketing companies. The completion of General Motors and its affiliated marketing firms brings the capacity of the 133,000 s/f building to about 90% occupied. The building is managed by Allegiance Realty.

Claris Construction has three office locations: Newtown, CT, West Hartford, CT, and Charlotte, NC. They employ a team of 32 including architects, project managers, superintendents, estimators, and administrative staff. They implement an open book approach with all their clients creating the highest level of trust and transparency.
