Connecticut chapter of the Appraisal Institute hosts remembrance, celebration of past presidents

Rememberance, celebratrion of past presidents and installation of 2017 officers

Berlin, CT The Connecticut Chapter of the Appraisal Institute held its annual meeting on December 8, 2016 at the Casa Mia at the Hawthorne. 

Donato Maisano, SRPA, SRA served as the master of ceremonies and Steven Hurlbut, MAI honored the memories of Christopher Italia, MAI; Richard Murray, SRA; Arthur Oles, MAI, SRA; and Theodore Rummel, MAI. All four men contributed greatly to the success of the chapter and the Connecticut appraisal profession over the years, and will be greatly missed.

The night also included a celebration of the past presidents of the chapter. The turn-out was astounding and great memories were shared.  Many of the past president’s commended Jackie Beauchaine who celebrated 25 years of service as executive director for the Connecticut chapter of the Appraisal Institute.  Beauchaine has consistently provided high quality leadership to the chapter over her 25 years of service, and all of those who spoke were grateful for her assistance, contributions and friendship over the years.

Albert Franke, III, MAI, SRA and David Herbst, MAI were presented MAI designations.  The Connecticut chapter also wishes to congratulate Jennifer Bean, MAI, AI-GRS, Jennifer Crotty, MAI, AI-GRS, and Deborah Preston Lipman, MAI, who earned prestigious Appraisal Institute designations in 2016.

The Connecticut chapter thanks those that brought and donated a new, unwrapped toy for the “Toys for Tots” collection drive.

The installation was conducted by Anthony Marmorale, SRA, AI-RRS, 2016 Region IV chair, along with Sam Vimini (father of 2017 president Peter Vimini).

The following officers were installed:

President – Peter Vimini, MAI

First vice president – Michael Fazio, MAI

Second vice president – Michael Baldi, Jr., MAI

Treasurer – Rocco Quaresima, MAI

Secretary – Joshua S, Koladis, MAI

Marmorale and Vimini also installed the board of directors consisting of: immediate past president Reynold Archambault, SRA; Casper Amodio, MAI; Michelle Gamache, MAI; Laurie Mentz Nichols, SRA; Marc Nadeau, SRA; Eli Pascon, Jr.; and Robert Reicher Jr., MAI.   

Marc Nadeau, SRA coordinated a silent auction that raised funds for the general operation of the chapter. Items auctioned included event tickets, wine, a chartered boat cruise, gift baskets, and rental of a house in Maine. Thank you to all who donated items and to those who submitted bids.
