Connecticut Construction Management Association of America receives national recognition

Washington, DC At the annual Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) National Conference, the Connecticut Chapter of CMAA was awarded the 2017 Chapter of the Year. The Connecticut Chapter was established in 2010 and was recognized for its growth and membership credibility. The current president for the chapter is Leslie Becker, Connecticut operations manager for Keville Enterprises, Inc. and past presidents Carrie Rocha (HNTB) and Petina Killeny (Arcadis Inc.) were present to accept the award. 

Becker said, “We are honored to receive this award and to be recognized at the national level for all the hard work and dedication the chapter members have put forth to ensure this chapter’s success.” 

The Connecticut chapter board of director attendees at this year’s CMAA conference included: Michael Mendick of the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT); Nicholas Macy of the University of Hartford; Thomas Dzagan of Michael Baker International; Sandra Stavola of WSP; Rizwan Mumtaz of AI Engineers and Mark DuPre of STV|DPM.

The Connecticut Chapter success also included three additional awards; two for Project Achievement and CMAA’s first Power of Community Award for the new Sandy Hook School in Newtown, where program management services were performed by STV|DPM along with Consigli Construction and Svigals + Partners Architects. 

Also in attendance were Connecticut chapter CMAA members represented by Arcadis, CDM Smith, Garg Engineering, HNTB and Michael Baker International. Overall, there were almost 1,300 attendees, making this the largest national conference to date.
