Lexington, MA CTA Construction Managers celebrated the topping off of the $10.4 million Lexington Children’s Place project. The topping off of the final steel beam marks the end of the structural phase of the project. Lexington Children’s Place is a district wide preschool that is dedicated to helping young children – with and without disabilities – learn together in an inclusive and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

The 19,000 s/f facility will contain ample classrooms, specialized and flexible spaces, and administration areas. A key feature of the new Lexington Children’s Place facility will be its green, sustainable technology.

Over the course of the project, which began in September, more than 160 tons of structural steel have been installed.

“We were delighted to complete the steel topping off on this innovative school project that will benefit young students for generations to come,” said Jeffrey Hazelwood, a principal at CTA Construction. “We are proud of the work that our entire team and our partners, including the Town of Lexington, have done on this school and we are looking forward to continuing with the next phase of the project.”

CTA Construction is working alongside the project architect, DiNisco Design, Inc. and the owner’s project manager, Construction Monitoring Services, on the Lexington Children’s Place project.
