Woburn, MA New England Flag & Banner has relocated from its long-time Watertown location to 12 Henshaw St. The 127-year-old company leased 7,500 s/f from Cummings Properties.

New England Flag & Banner makes custom hand-sewn appliqué banners, flags, and table drapes. Its clients include colleges and universities, professional sports teams, and corporations from across the country. All of its products are made in the USA. Among the most visible examples of its work locally are the Celtics and Bruins championship and retirement banners, and the banner commemorating the Red Sox’s 2013 World Series win.

Cummings Properties leasing officer Steve Cusano worked with John Dolan of McCall & Almy on the lease.

“New England Flag & Banner is growing, and like many companies today, it was being priced out of cities adjacent to Boston and Cambridge,” said Cusano. “Woburn is an attractive alternative because it offers affordable rates along with convenient access to I-95 and I-93.”

New England Flag & Banner’s new facility is a mix of office and production space. The company required a large open area to accommodate the oversized tables used in the making of its products, some of which are as big as 100 feet x 120 feet.

Cummings Properties manages a portfolio of 10 million s/f of commercial space in 11 suburban communities north and west of Boston.

Most of these properties are owned by Cummings Foundation, with 100 percent of all rental profits supporting hundreds of local charities. The Cummings organization awards $25 million annually to greater Boston nonprofits, and it has awarded more than $225 million to date. More information is available at www.cummings.com.
