From Mills to Micro-Lofts breakfast seminar at Traditional Building Conference on July 25

July 19, 2012 - Construction Design & Engineering

The Arcade - Providence, RI

"From Mills to Micro-Lofts: Sustainable Design Solutions for Urban Living" subject of breakfast seminar at Traditional Building Conference July 25.
Adapting historic mills and other large structures is not a new story; adapting historic spaces for micro-sized living is a new story. Join design and construction professionals for a business breakfast on July 25 at the historic Boston Exchange Conference Center when the Traditional Building Conference returns to Town for two days of seminars on traditional design, materials and methods.
This session will be conducted by a team of architects from Northeast Collaborative Architects, a firm with offices in Providence and Newport, currently working on the Arcade- a mixed use project in downtown Providence. The upper story micro-lofts were completely rented in advance of the project completion. This project is part of growing national trend to encourage small residential units with small rental rates to encourage students and young professionals to live downtown.
The breakfast seminar is 90 minutes long starting at 8 am. For $65, architects can earn 1.5 AIA HSW/SD Learning Units and LEED Accredited Professionals can earn 1.5 GBCI CMP Continuing Education Hours. If you purchase a one or two-day package to attend the conference, the price for the breakfast seminar drops to $50. Registration is available at www.traditionalbuildingshow.com. On-line registration closes on July 19. Please call 781-779-1560 for discounts for groups of three or more attendees for the one-day or two-day conference registration fees of $149 and $199 respectively.
