Wallingford, CT ONE SOURCE has hired Paul Keyes as a sustainable buildings expert. Keyes will be responsible for expanding their service offering to clients to include developing strategies and successful implementation of sustainable energy, renewable, water, and waste solutions.

Keyes joins ONE SOURCE as a sustainable buildings expert and consultant from his own company, The GreenFootprint, LLC, which he built from his experience and network in the energy and sustainability fields. His technical field knowledge of building codes and systems combined with his expertise in the energy and sustainability space gives him the unique ability to identify opportunities to improve overall building efficiency and decrease operating costs. Keyes will be leading the team in developing this niche within ONE SOURCE’s facility management service offering.

Keyes was instrumental in bringing the Clean Energy Communities program to the town of Bloomfield that won a $10,000 grant from Energize CT.

He was also credited for bringing energy benchmarking to the affordable housing market through Connecticut Housing Finance Investment Authority to help its owners understand and reduce their energy usage.

Keyes was a founding member of the Home Performance Alliance of CT (HPACT).

Keyes has held many green certifications including BPI Multi-Family, Healthy Homes, 30 Hr. OSHA, BOMA training and has been a Department of Energy Century Award recipient. Keyes holds a bachelor of science from Albertus Magnus College in Business Management. He currently serves the industry by his board position with The Connecticut Green Building Council.

“I looked for quite some time for a vehicle by which I could incorporate all of my experience and skills to help building owners incorporate sensible sustainability practices,” said Keyes. “Teaming up with ONE SOURCE is the one key element that was missing from a complete offering of the needs of today’s commercial property owners and managers. There are many complex issues our clients face today. They are in dire need of capable assistance in the areas of sustainability, energy, renewables, water, waste, and resiliency solutions.”

With the addition of Keyes to the ONE SOURCE team, they are able to expand their service offering to facility management clients to include a full cycle, expert solution for sustainability, energy, renewables, water, and waste programs. The cycle begins with audits of all building systems and benchmarking by evaluating current utility bills and usage. This is followed by a full report including recommendations for improvements from which they can identify relevant energy programs and incentives to reduce or eliminate the financial burden of an upgrade or replacement. The next step is working with the associations or government programs to complete the proper paperwork and follow the process to get the project off the ground. Keyes and his team can also provide project management to ensure the job is completed by experienced and qualified contractors. From start to finish, Keyes will grant us the expanded ability to ensure the process as a whole is seamless, operative, and financially achievable for our clients.

ONE SOURCE founder and president Nicholas Lombardi said, “Paul Keyes is a game changer for us as a strategic partner and expert in the sustainability and energy arena. We’re proud to have the ability to offer this valuable service to our clients.”
