Brightview Senior Living,  21 Crescent St. - Wakefield, MA

Wakefield, MA The newest Brightview Senior Living community has been completed just in time for residents to enjoy the December holidays in their new home. The senior living community is located at 21 Crescent St. and is owned by Brightview Senior Living Development. PROCON was the architect and construction manager for the 167,000 s/f building, which is walking distance from the Lake Quannapowitt and 10 miles from Boston.

The design team fit the 4-story building into the existing urban fabric of Wakefield by using the language of many of the historic buildings in town to inspire the design. Brightview Wakefield features 130 luxury apartments in a variety of styles and care options including 61 independent living, 42 assisted living (10 of which are premium), and 27 Wellspring Village apartment homes.  Wellspring Village is a specialized Brightview neighborhood designed to enhance the lives of those living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

At 167,000 s/f and tucked between the town’s businesses, the Wakefield community was one of the tightest Brightview projects sites ever constructed by PROCON. However, David Carliner, partner and executive vice president of Brightview Senior Living Development, commented on the exceptional work of the project team  saying, “PROCON did such a great job of not just squeezing the building on the site but designing it to meet all of our expectations. From the get-go, they got control of this complex project and have constructed it with precision.”

The trend of walkable urbanism is gaining popularity for seniors as the baby boomer generation moves to senior living communities. They expect flexibility, choice and variety, all of which make this community a desirable place to live. Along with its proximity to downtown Wakefield, Brightview offers an abundant array of in-house services, including a variety of dining options, a salon with rooftop deck, a fitness spa and a warm and inviting library and pub.  Group activity spaces encourage residents to enjoy purposeful activities, clubs, games and hobbies. Along with all of these amenities, an expertly trained team of associates will provide Brightview Wakefield residents with the individualized, respectful care they need and deserve.

In recent years, medical technology has prolonged overall lifespans producing a “silver boom.” According to the Institute on Aging, by 2030, as the last Baby Boomers turn 65, older adults are expected to reach 20 percent of the population. Brightview Senior Living has been a leader in meeting the high demand for older adult housing by providing them with upscale, communities in eight states on the East Coast.
