Big Brother Organization of Boston In 1960 Ed Haddad worked with the Charles Phizer Company in New York City selling pharmaceutical products for two years. He then moved to Boston and joined the Mass. General Life Insurance Company, selling group insurance in Boston. The avid skier and golfer then came to Wm. C. Codman’s Investment department and in mid-1964, Ed Haddad became manager of that division. Working with one of the oldest and most respected firms in Boston (it’s 94 yeas old), Ed states: “Boston is probably the most exciting city in the country in which a broker can now operate. This is by reason of the dramatic changes which are occurring here. Once mediocre locations in the City, such as the Fenway, have become first class area due to the neighboring municipal and private developments which upgrade the area.” Ed was vitally instrumental in selling six Fenway buildings valued in excess of $1 million. Speaking in terms of brokerage opportunities, Mr. Haddad said: “With the new Federal tax structures and financing opportunities available through the F.H.A. and Small Business Loan Association, there are many more investment opportunities today, than were in existence ten years ago; especially for imaginative individuals with small capital at their disposal. Brokers who can avail themselves of this knowledge have unlimited opportunities to sell investment properties in this area.” Mr. Haddad’s eye toward the future also falls upon his personal life – his wife is expecting a child in June. Already a Big Brother, Ed Haddad hopes for a girl.
