Education: Fort Worth, TX and Stamford, Conn. high schools Frank Prouty is an excellent example of diversifying in real estate. He is equally at home, whether buying, selling, developing property or negotiating a mortgage. At the age of 18, Frank worked with his father selling G.E.appliances in Conn. By 1931, Frank had become a manager for the Coolerator Company, and before the 30’s were over, he had spent five years on West coast. Meanwhile, Prouty’s father had returned to Maine, and opened a real estaet firm. Frank brought three coal mines in 1940, returned to Maine in 1941 to work in Portland as a chief investigator for a ship building firm. After the war, Frank joined his father with Town & Country Properties, Inc., a real estate investment firm. Eventually Frank became very active in brokerage and is a past president of the Maine Association of Realtors, a two-time president and found of Maine Multiple Listing Inc., and a N.E. Director of the International Traders Club. Frank is married, lives in Portland and enjoys flying and boating. Two years ago he formed the Maine Equity Group which has grown to 45 offices for the purpose of lending 2nd mortgages to help the small home buyer in purchasing. Frank believes in showing property from a plane, “Sold my first real estate from the air in 1937 - an island.”
