Title: Vice President

Company: John E. Hayes Real Estate

Location: Hartford, Conn.

Birthplace: New York City - 1930

Although George spends his spare time raising Holstein and Black Angus cattle, he’s no farmer when it comes to industrial real estate. He was a member of the nationally recognized Worcester Industrial Service & Development Dept., where as a manager he promoted “bootstrap operations” for local industry, developing Goddard Industrial Park, Bronzo Industrial Park, and the Worcester Distribution Center. In 1964 George moved into the John E. Hayes Company, working as a Vice President of the Brainard Industrial Center, which due to his efforts, has eight national tenants and a list of prospectives that goes over 100. Even when George ventured into the backwoods of Vermont, within his first 90 days he was able to sell the Berkshire-Hathaway Mill to Roger Plastics, which occupied the 85,000 s/f facility. Now George works in the fast moving City of Hartford: “A City with a very fine economic balance and civic pride,” George commented. “The future,” he said, “looks good. The tremendous pace of the Connecticut highway system, which was one of the world’s most modern, has been a definite factor in sparking industrial development.” While at the Hayes Company, George has sold some 175,000 s/f of industrial and commercial space.
