Education: Webster High School Herman attended trade school for 2 ½ years for mechanical engineering; while doing so, he drove an ice cream truck. “Ice cream sales were surprisingly good after the war and I jumped at the opportunity to buy into the ice cream manufacturing company. In 1949 I purchased the entire company and built it from a $35,000 firm to $1/2 million in 1954 when I sold it. I then converted the plant into a restaurant (Webster, Mass.), which I ran until 1962, when someone introduced me to Personnel Development Center, which was a series of sales technique recordings. Believe it or not, these changed my life and in my first year of selling (real estate) I did over one half million dollars.
