Professional Profile: William Beazley 1967

William Beazley - 1967

Name: William Beazley - 1967

Title: Founder/owner

Company: The Beazley Co., Realtors

Location: New Haven, CT

Birthplace: New Haven, CT - 1905

Education: Cushing Academy After toiling at several jobs, including potato picking in Maine, Bill Beazley settled down in 1929 with a wife and a steady job in the mortgage loan business with Thom Clark Co. By 1932, Bill was on his own in general brokerage, and in 1935 took on the correspondency of the Phoenix Mutual Life Ins. Co., and later the Connecticut General Insurance Company. Bill was very active in the building field before WWII, and after five years in the Air Corps, returned to build his 6-man firm into the 47-man office of today. “My brother John left Lomas & Nettleton to join me in 1946 and handles commercial and industrial sales with a 4-man staff. We also are active in insurance.” Despite the recent ‘tight money’ situation, the Beazley firm last year sold 596 properties with a dollar value of over $16 million (houses). The first nine months of this year produced 636 sales and just under $17 million. The secret to Bill’s 30 years of success is ‘thoroughly trained’ employees covering a 20 mile radius of New Haven. A past president of the local and state Realtor Association, Bill has been active with the Taxpayers Assn., Rotary Club, T.B. Assn., and the Chamber of Commerce. Married for 36 years, the Beazleys reside in Woodbridge where Bill’s hobbies include fishing and golf. Beazley’s marketing concept, Showplace of Homes, allows the prospect to view some 1300 homes through color slides before actually viewing the property. This system will mean at least $17 million for the firm in 1967.
