Stamford, CT Savills Studley has completed a 19,450 s/f lease to relocate law firm Day Pitney LLP’s local offices to 1 Stamford Plaza.

After more than 30 years at Canterbury Green in downtown, Day Pitney will move from its current offices at 201 Broad St. to join the 16-story, 219,000 s/f class A office tower in the first quarter of 2019.

The lease, which encompasses the entire 7th floor, features an efficient floorplate with a mix of private offices and meeting spaces. The new offices will house 70 employees, including 32 attorneys.

Savills Studley’s, Craig Lemle, Michael Goldman and Jason Perla arranged the long-term transaction for the law firm, while Margaret Carlson represented the landlord, RFR, in-house.

Established in 1902, Day Pitney is celebrating its 100th anniversary in Connecticut this year. The firm has five offices throughout the state and is the largest law firm in Connecticut. Day Pitney also has a strong presence along the East Coast, with additional offices in Boston, Florida, New Jersey, New York and Washington, D.C.

With the new lease, Day Pitney will also benefit from in-building amenities such as an on-site fitness center, cafeteria, a 1,200-space attached parking garage, 24/7 security, keycard access and state-of-the-art tenant-controlled HVAC.

“After a yearlong search of the entire market, Day Pitney ultimately decided that relocating made the most sense for the company based on their desire to be in a modern office environment in close proximity to the Metro-North and I-95,” Lemle said. “This new space is a perfect fit to accommodate their entire Stamford team all on one floor.”
