SIOR Connecticut/ Western Mass. Chapter upcoming 2019 spring events

Hartford, CT The Connecticut/ Western Massachusetts chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR) recently announced a slate of upcoming spring events.

• March 14: The Chapter’s Spring meeting was held at Greenbox Interior Solutions in Hartford at the historic former Colt complex. Owned by De Clercq Office Group, one of the chapter’s annual sponsors, Greenbox Interior Solutions is a sustainable prefabricated office build out system, resulting in a high degree of customization with faster construction times at lower costs.

• April 10 - 13: Spring 2019 World Conference to be held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, D.C. General session speakers include Joseph Coughlin, director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab who will talk about “If Demography is Destiny, What is the Future of Real Estate;” Robin Chase, founder and former CEO of Zipcar who will address the future of transportation; and Greg Lindsay, senior fellow of the New Cities Foundation who will speak about “Big, Smart & Green – How Cities Shape our Future.”

• May 2: The chapter will again be a sponsor at the annual Connecticut Commercial Real Estate Alliance Conference, in conjunction with UCONN Center for Real Estate and Urban Economic Studies. This year’s conference will be held at the Delamar Hotel in West Hartford.

• May 10: Developer’s Breakfast Panel to be held at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford. A slate of preeminent Connecticut developers, to be announced shortly, will be sharing their thoughts on the market and trends they are identifying in the different commercial real estate classes in Connecticut and the region. 

The Connecticut/Western Massachusetts Chapter is one of 48 chapters of SIOR. Commercial real estate professionals must meet rigorous requirements to earn the SIOR designation. SIOR, founded in 1941, has over 3,200 members in 685 markets located in 36 countries. SIOR represents today’s most knowledgeable, experienced, and successful commercial real estate brokerage specialists.
