PDT ARCHITECTS was founded in 1977 as Portland Design Team, a name that articulates our values as a company: PORTLAND is the center of our involvement in community architecture; wherever we work, and in whatever time period, we practice design that reflects place and community and sustains their resources into the future. DESIGN is the creative exercise of mind, eye, and hand that we followed to become architects. The integration of skillful craft into the design of a building helps human beings perform better, learn longer, live more expansively. We practice architecture as a TEAM process. Our staff teams are formed around projects as they move through the phases of design. Our consultants work right along side with us, in the field or electronically. The larger team, the people who will own and use the building, are indispensable. The design process integrates contributions from everyone involved into a spirited whole.
