Boston, MA Wentworth Institute of Technology College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE) has made available a new degree program; a Bachelor of Science in Facility Management (BSFM). The BSFM program is designed for working professionals and allows students to complete the degree while still being able to work full-time and fulfill their personal responsibilities. The Bachelor of Science in Facility Management Program offers instruction which reflects the integrated nature of today’s built environment and is designed to prepare students for professional careers in facility management for public, private and institutional organizations. Facility Management practice can be regarded as the management of a company’s or institution’s physical assets. The management of these assets involves long-term, as well as short-term, planning for physical facilities and real properties that integrates the organization’s strategic business plan and the technical components for that plan. The quality of work life and cost effectiveness of the organization’s environment are the goals of the facility manager. Wentworth students are instructed in design & construction, building technologies, business, and management principles to manage these complex built environments.

Wentworth students in the BSFM program benefit from curriculum taught by industry experts and aligned with the International Facilities Management Association (IFMA). Eligible applicants can transfer up to 80 credits into the program from prior education and professional experience. Plus, every BSFM students have access to all Wentworth resources and support services, including the library, academic advising, career counseling, and technical support. CPCE students pursing a BSFM degree will learn the fundamental principles in business and management together with current technologies necessary for entry level facility planning professional practice.

In addition to the new BSFM, Wentworth continues to offer 6 graduate programs; Master of Science offerings in construction management (MSCM), facility management (MSFM), technology management (MSTM), applied computer science (MSACS), architecture (MSArch), as well as a graduate degree in civil engineering (MEng CE). For adult learners who work full-time, CPCE graduate programs are delivered either on-campus in hybrid format or 100% online.
