2017 was a terrific year for Real Estate Finance Association

Boston, MA On Tuesday, November 21, REFA held its Annual Holiday Party and President’s Reception at the UMass Club. Members and colleagues enjoyed an evening of networking, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks all in a relaxed and festive setting. The evening included a check presentation for REFA’s 2017 Beneficiaries, sharing $24,000 with FamilyAid Boston, HomeStart & Rosie’s Place - all organizations committed to helping end homelessness within the Boston area. 

REFA’s last event of 2017 was held on Tuesday, December 5 as a Members-Only Breakfast on the topic of East Boston’s Transformation and the future of the growing neighborhood. The program took place at Nutter, McClennen & Fish LLP, 155 Seaport Blvd., from 8 – 9:15 a.m. The panel included moderator Sue Hawkes, managing director, The Collaborative Companies and speakers Matt Edlen, director of acquisitions and development, Gerding Edlen; Raul Duverge, project manager, Boston Planning & Development Agency; Nick Iselin, general manager - development, LendLease and Joel Kadis, partner of leasing & development, Linear Retail.

In 2017, REFA hosted 30 educational programs and special events featuring over 60 industry leaders from the commercial real estate finance community. These programs and events include REFA’s Annual Forecasting Luncheon, Golf Tournament, Summer Panel, Fall Conference, Gala, Women’s Series and community service initiatives. 

REFA’s membership continues to be strong with 600 members, including 250 Emerging Leaders and 90 Corporate Sponsors.  

REFA would like to thank all of the speakers, members and Corporate Sponsors for their help and support throughout the past year! We look forward to working together in the New Year!
