If you had a mentor in your career, who was it and what did they teach you? Finding and building a relationship with an experienced and trusted advisor can be challenging. A mentor provides guidance, motivation and emotional support to enable one to achieve or exceed goals and career aspirations. Being in a newly created role that developed with my career, I lacked the benefit of a predecessor to follow or learn from. My ultimate mentor and role model has been my mother. Her strength and wisdom have guided me in the past 20 years as I have tried to balance my work and family life. Her ambitious goals, hard work, integrity, loyalty, commitment, and “never give up” attitude are some of her many values I have tried to live by. She inspires me every day!
