2020 Year in Review: Brian Duffy, DPS Group

December 25, 2020 - Spotlights
Brian Duffy
Senior Director of Architecture and Engineering
DPS Group

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2020? The highlight for me was joining DPS as Director of Architecture and Engineering. It was a great opportunity with a company who I’d been aware of - especially of late - given DPS designed the Moderna facility in Norwood which has been central in the fight against COVID-19. DPS continues to work with Moderna and their partners as well as some of the most cutting-edge life sciences companies and projects in the world. We have a fantastic array of clients involved in numerous exciting therapeutics from gene to cell therapy, microbiome to mRNA and biologics, etc.

What aspects of working from home have you enjoyed most? It was nice to start the day in my sweats, spend my breaks with my family, and have a flexible workday.

What was the most difficult part of working during the pandemic of 2020? While working remotely I was competing with my four kids and schoolteacher wife for space and bandwidth. Sometimes I would take over my 11-year-old’s room once he roused himself and I would get asked if I was working in a dorm room on video calls because they could see the bunkbed behind me.
