2020 Year in Review: Dale Gienapp, Gienapp Architects

What was the most difficult part of working during the pandemic of 2020? Maintaining a sense of camaraderie across the firm. The separation meant that teams of 2-3 often worked in isolation on a project. It made it difficult for team members to collaborate on a broader scale and take advantage of the expertise of others outside the project team.

What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project,

deal, or transaction in 2020? Our greatest accomplishment was being able to keep our entire staff on full time, with full-time salaries, through this current crisis. By managing our backlog and finding creative ways to keep projects moving forward, we were able to make the most of a difficult situation.

What are your predictions for commercial real estate in 2021? If 2020 has taught us anything, it’s that predictions can be hard to make! Whatever 2021 may bring, it’s clear that creative, problem-solving design and the ability to work flexibly is critical to adapt to the changing needs of clients.
