What made you interested in seeking a career in the AEC industry? I was originally drawn to the AEC industry for its tremendous impact on energy and climate change, and the potential to address these challenges positively and creatively. Tangling with broad systemic issues through physical solutions is very gratifying to me, and I enjoy the balance of skillsets that architecture uses to reach these solutions (programming, space planning, systems design, energy modeling, material research, detailing, etc.). The collaborative nature of the work – including partnerships with specialized consultants, builders, and owners – offers continuous opportunities for learning, inspiration, and professional development that I find invaluable.
