What’s a challenge you faced early in your career, and how did you overcome it? Early on, my biggest challenge was feeling confident in front of clients. I didn’t feel like I knew enough about the industry, and as a woman in construction, I was especially aware of the scrutiny that came with that. I wanted to be well educated in every aspect of my work so I could speak with authority and earn trust. Overcoming this challenge was easier than I expected due to the support of my colleagues who were willing to answer questions, share knowledge, and help me grow. That mentorship made all the difference, and it’s something I’ve carried with me throughout my career.

What advice would you give to a woman considering a career in commercial real estate? I belong in this industry – and so do you. My advice to women entering commercial real estate or construction: stay curious, stay humble, and never stop learning. Find mentors and allies (they don’t have to be women); many are eager to share their knowledge. Be a sponge, ask questions, and trust your instincts. Your perspective brings real value, and your professionalism will always speak louder than doubt.
