What is your favorite / most beneficial part of Women in Construction week? 

Women empowering women. During my routine project safety audits on construction sites, I predominantly encounter male workers. The times when I do see other women on the job, I feel an overwhelming sense of camaraderie and belonging. I believe Women in Construction week helps promote and celebrate the fact that there are women in this industry and that they are valued members who bring a tremendous amount to the table.

What are your goals for the future?

I love working as a Safety Officer in construction. It’s a rewarding job where I meet new people and hopefully make a positive difference in their lives, not only getting them home safely each day but also shifting their mindset to take care of themselves and be there for one another. I look forward to continuing to advance my career in construction safety and enhancing my understanding of best practices to become an even more valuable asset to my colleagues and onsite teams.
