Pro Con's TownePlace Suites awarded LEED Silver by USGBC: Developed by New Boston Fund and Waterford Development
October 11, 2012 - Rhode Island
The 4-story, 55,453 s/f hotel is the first TownePlace Suites to become LEED certified in the country. Sustainable design practices were incorporated into each phase of construction and operation of the building, which resulted in the Towne Place Suites attaining a 26% improvement in energy performance when compared to a similar building. Pro Con Inc registered the project with the USGBC in 2011 and received LEED Silver Certification in August 2012.
"We developed, designed and constructed The TownePlace Suites with a strong focus on sustainability and incorporated environmentally friendly features into the operation of the building," said Bob Shapiro of Waterford Development. "We are very proud that the TownePlace Suites attained Silver certification and know that our guests and employees appreciate the building's energy saving features."
