Acella completes 9,600 s/f project in Brewster

December 11, 2008 - Spotlights
Acella Construction Corporation recently completed the construction of Tom & Jean Yawkey Dormitory at Latham School. Latham School is a program offered at the Latham Centers, a nationally known, innovative treatment facility on Cape Cod. Students at the school range from ages 8 to 22, and include girls who have coped with troubled histories, have experienced trauma and failed placements. They also include individuals living with Prader-Willi Syndrome.
The new 9,600 s/f dormitory is a 2-story wood framed building and will house 16 student and 8 staff members. Included in the project is an elevator, basement storage and an unfinished second floor for future expansion. Construction was divided into two phases to accommodate the client's funding. The dorm is named in honor of former Boston Red Sox owners Jean and Tom Yawkey.
Acella worked on this project in close collaboration with S.A. Architecture of Orleans.
