Architectural Resources Cambridge completes work on YMCA facility

ARC/Architectural Resources Cambridge has completed work on a new, state-of-the-art YMCA health and wellness facility at 200 Summit Rd. A gala celebration was hosted by the Keene Family YMCA on Saturday, January 7 to mark the grand opening of the 65,000 s/f space. The facility has been open and in use since December 12, 2011, with area residents enjoying a variety of amenities that will become a center of community activity in Keene and the surrounding region. The new Keene Family YMCA features a dedicated, six-room childcare center for infants through preschoolers, outdoor playing spaces, a climbing wall and 150 parking spaces and bicycle racks. Facility highlights include an Aquatics Center with lap pool, whirlpool, sauna, and a zero-entry warm therapy pool that offers older people, younger children and those with accessibility problems a gradual slope similar to a natural beach that leads to the water, rather than stairs or ladders.
