Baybutt Construction selected for renovation of Brattleboro state office building

The state of Vermont Department of Buildings and General Services has selected Baybutt Construction Corp. as general contractor for the $3 million complete renovation and mechanical systems replacement project at the local state office building.
The building on Main St. houses many district offices all to be totally renovated. The offices include: The Department of Health; The Department of Labor; The Department for Children and Families Economic Services Division and The Department for Children and Families Family Services Division.
The 20,000 s/f building will be completely gutted with new electrical/mechanical systems installed as well as new partitions and all new finishes. The building will also be brought up to all current building code standards including structural upgrades and egress renovations.
The project is designed by Weimann Lamphere Architects.
Construction will begin immediately and be fast tracked with a ten-month duration as the entire personnel for the state office building have been relocated to another facility in the area.
Baybutt has a history of completed projects with the state of Vermont Buildings and General Services Department dating back to 1965 with projects for: Vermont Technical College in Randolph; Castleton State College Campus Center; Linden State College Vail Hall and Johnson State College Library/Learning Center.
