Berry Constr. project gets LEED Gold certification

The Center for Life Science at 3 Blackfan Circle has been awarded LEED Gold certification, one of the highest certifications awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council. William A. Berry & Son, Inc. of Danvers, was the construction manager for the recently completed center. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. LEED certification provides an independent, third-party verification that a building project is environmentally responsible, profitable and a healthy place to live or work.
The Center for Life Science is located in the heart of Boston's Longwood Medical Center and is surrounded by world-class life science research institutions, hospital and bio/pharma companies. With 18 stories above ground, the Center is the tallest building in the Longwood Area. The Center is owned by BioMed Realty Trust.
