Merchants Row was acquired by Centremark Properties, Inc., in 2006. Originally, the site of the Barnside Tavern, a local tavern, the center was expanded gradually and is now a unique retail center anchored by two of the Back Bay Restaurant Group's eateries, Joes American Bar & Grill and Paparazzi Restaurant.
Merchants Row is a 100,000 s/f life style center located at intersection of Rte. 53 and 123, only yards from exit 13 off of Rte. 3, the major highway north to Boston. Over 30,000 cars per day travel by the center on Rte. 53. Merchants Row serves as a "gateway" to the affluent South Shore communities of Hanover, Norwell, Hingham, Cohasset, Scituate, Hull and Duxbury.
Merchants Row is one of the original "life style" centers that has grown over the last 20 years. Under Centremark's management, the center is now going through redevelopment - with restored exterior façades, new signage programs, new awnings, new interior floors and general upgrading of the property as well as exciting new tenanting by the new ownership. The center has a great mix of tenants that include women's apparel, home furnishings, computer services, salon and spa, a children's bookstore and the Kumon Learning Center as well as a two restaurants and a coffee roaster shop and over 17 other fine retailers.
New additions to the tenant roster include; Appleseed's (opened September) - a women's clothing store focusing on the 55 and older demographics, Open Door Yoga (opened September 2007) - offers a variety of yoga classes and training, One2One/BodyScapes (opened July) - focuses on one to one personal training for both men and women, and Jennifer Reale Design (opened November) - a fresh sportswear line for women 25 and older. Potpourri Designs has been a popular anchor tenant for 20 years focusing on fashion forward women's clothing and accessories.
Other retailers focusing on women's services are, The Face Place and Spa, a full service spa, Complements Hair Specialist, and Jenny Craig Weight loss Center.
The mall also offers something for the children with Kumon Learning Center, Storybook Cove, and Maxell's Fine Candies.
Many customers dine at our three popular restaurants located in the Mall. Pacini's Italian Restaurant, Cedar Café, and the Kiskadee Coffee Shop.
