Coffey appointed benefit director of Bergmeyer’s board of directors

Boston, MA Social and environmental impact leader Rebecca Kline Coffey is the newly appointed benefit director to industry leading design collaborative Bergmeyer’s board of directors. As both a Certified B Corp. and Massachusetts Benefit Corp., Bergmeyer is committed to embedding positive impact directly into how the organization governs and operates its business. Coffey will work as an independent benefit officer alongside Bergmeyer’s shareholder board of directors to effectively ensure Bergmeyer is advancing its public benefit objectives at the governance level by providing mission oversight, Board accountability, and strategic stewardship to strengthen the positive impact Bergmeyer has on the communities it serves.

Coffey brings a deep commitment to purpose-driven business, a strong belief in stakeholder accountability, and a perspective that aligns closely with Bergmeyer’s, that business growth and positive impact are not competing priorities, but complementary ones. In her new role Coffey hopes to use her experience working alongside B Corps and mission-driven organizations to help Bergmeyer navigate the practical realities of aligning business decisions with social and environmental impact.

In addition to her new role on Bergmeyer’s board, Coffey serves as senior consultant at Impact Growth Partners. 

Since the firm’s inception, she has guided companies across diverse industries, from footwear and fashion to investment, through the process of measuring and improving their social and environmental impact, working with purpose-driven brands including Burton Snowboards, Cotopaxi, Humanscale, Grace Farms, Maker’s Mark Distillery, ButcherBox, and Vivobarefoot. Coffey brings over 25 years of combined nonprofit and for-profit organizational leadership to the field of stakeholder capitalism, having founded and led New Haven Farms, now Gather New Haven. A Deshpande Foundation Fellow and a member of the B Corp Consultants Network Leadership Circle, Coffey earned her MPA from Columbia University and lives in Vermont.
