Boston, MA According to Cresa, executive managing principal Jack Burns has been recognized by the Real Estate & Finance Association (RE&FA) with its annual McCall Leadership Award. This award, given to one member of the city’s commercial real estate community each year, is chosen by the RE&FA (formerly known as the CBA) as voted on by its membership.

The recipient of this award is considered an industry leader across a variety of mediums and is only eligible to win the award once during his or her career. Burns has earned a reputation as one of Boston’s most respected commercial real estate professionals, with more than 45 years of industry experience. As a founder of Cresa and executive managing principal of Cresa Boston, he has built a career defined by integrity, professionalism, and unwavering client advocacy.

In order to be considered for the McCall Leadership award, applicants must demonstrate proficiency across a number of professional and civic categories. Burns is credited with creating the CoreNet Real Advantage Program, which facilitates workshops and roundtable discussions for the corporate real estate community and is now a model across North America. In addition, he has served on Cresa’s board of directors as well as president of CoreNet Global New England.

Burns has also played a central role in several of Cresa’s most complex and high-profile assignments, with notable deals including PTC’s 250,000 s/f headquarters lease at 121 Seaport Blvd. and Hasbro’s 11-year, 265,000 s/f lease for its new East Coast presence at 400 Summer St.

He is also relied upon by numerous global organizations for real estate and property portfolio guidance, including Dell EMC, 3DSystems, Seagate, and First Citizens Bank (formally SVB).

“Jack Burns has served as a leader not only at Cresa but within Boston’s commercial real estate industry at large, allowing those of us lucky enough to work with him access to his acumen and kindness,” said Adam Subber, executive managing principal, Cresa Boston. “In receiving the McCall Leadership Award from the RE&FA, we see that these sentiments are shared by our peers across the community, and we’re proud to see a member of our leadership team receive this prestigious award.”
