DSH Design Group retained by KS Partners for 29,000 s/f build-out

DSH Design Group, architectural firm in Newton, Mass. was retained by KS Partners, LLC from New York to develop the design and construction documents for 29,000 s/f of new office space located at Forbes Business Center.
The design will be developed based on the Executive Office of Health and Human Services of State of Massachusetts' program. The space will be occupied by three departments: Department of Children and Family, occupying 15,800 s/f, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, occupying 3,500 s/f, and Department of Developmental Service occupying 4,600 s/f, and 4,000 s/f of open office areas with total of 134 cubicles and 5 conference rooms, record rooms, and storage spaces.
This new location will be DCAMM's largest office in the area designed per DCAMM's latest guidelines and specification especially for data and communication system, cabling and equipment, and integration of the security and safety of staff and clients.
Two new 40 ton energy-efficient air handling units with multiple zones will replace the current system providing multiple zoned cooling, heating and ventilation. The new lighting system also will be energy-efficient fluorescent lamps with energy saving electronic ballasts equipped with motion sensors. The occupation date is set for January 2014.The project schedule requires architectural design and construction documents to be completed within two months and the construction within four months to meet the targeted opening date.
DSH Design Group performed the due-diligent investigation, existing condition documentation, and developed the interior design drawings within four weeks followed by preparation of final construction documents completed in one month. The completed documents were issued for permit and construction in the first week of September. DSH Design Group is proud to be selected by KS Partners for this project.
