Galaxy Development acquires 2-acre retail site at 133 Water Street

Fitchburg, MA Galaxy Development of Auburn purchased 2 acres at 133 Water St. directly across from the Market Basket anchored Central Plaza.

The site is the location of the former Pelletier Building Supply which has been boarded up and vacant for several years. Prior to closing on the property a zone change from Industrial to General Business was obtained. The Water Street Market Basket is the dominant grocery store in the area. The property has over 540 feet of road frontage and has a traffic count of over 18,000 vehicles a day.

The demographics are extremely strong with over 18,000 people in 1 mile, and 48,000 within 3 miles. Preliminary plans call for a free standing building of 10,000 s/f and a planned gas/convenient store with drive thru. Galaxy will seek permits over the winter with construction planned for spring 2016.
