Brian Garbecki, PE, director of healthcare services in New England at Gilbane Building Company, was recently selected as one of the "Twenty Who are Making a Difference" by Healthcare Design magazine. Garbecki was selected for his development and implementation of Gilbane's proprietary Healthcare Cost Advisor application. The interactive program helps facility owners to develop accurate budgets in the early stages of project development, by allowing them to see the cost implications of building and programmatic decisions made very early on in planning.
"This recognition is certainly an honor. Developing the program was a natural step for me, given my background in healthcare facilities management and engineering design, as well as my current role as preconstruction manager for healthcare projects. I'm glad to have provided a service that will help healthcare facilities grow with confidence," said Garbecki.
A professional engineer and certified energy manager, Garbecki is a graduate of Western New England College with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. He also holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Rhode Island. He has served as an adjunct professor for the School of Engineering at Western New England College. Prior to joining Gilbane in 2005, Garbecki worked for Baystate Health System, a major healthcare provider in Western New England, where he was responsible for the planning and design of major capital projects.
