Boston, MA Groom Construction, Co., Inc. has hired Brett Standish as senior superintendent. Standish brings more than 20 years of construction management experience, with a proven track record delivering complex projects across the healthcare, life science, higher education, residential, and mixed-use sectors. He has led construction efforts on projects ranging from $1 million to $850 million, including work within highly sensitive, occupied environments where safety, coordination, and schedule control are critical.

Prior to joining Groom Construction, Standish held superintendent roles with other highly reputable general contractors, where he contributed to some of the region’s most high-profile and technically demanding projects.

His experience includes major healthcare and research facilities such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Mt. Auburn Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals’ Fan Pier campus, as well as large-scale academic and residential developments including Harvard’s Allston Science Complex and numerous multifamily buildings throughout Massachusetts.

“Brett Standish is an accomplished field leader with deep experience managing complex projects and large trade teams,” said Graeme Poole, COO. “His steady leadership, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and quality will make him an excellent fit for Groom and a strong asset to our clients.”

As senior superintendent, Standish is responsible for leading on-site construction operations, coordinating subcontractors, enforcing safety and quality standards, maintaining schedule performance, and ensuring successful execution from mobilization through project closeout. He is known for his collaborative approach and ability to build strong working relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors, and local authorities.

Standish studied Mechanical Engineering Technology at Northeastern University and maintains an OSHA 30-hour certification and a Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License (CSL). He recently earned his Certified Passive House Builder (CPHB) certification, further demonstrating his commitment to high-performance building standards and continued professional development.
