Seth Handy

Seth Handy has become Of Counsel to Chace Ruttenberg & Freedman, LLP and will provide legal counsel to clients including land use and development, environmental, municipal and commercial law and civil litigation.
Handy was formerly the development director of the Dynamo House project for Struever Bros. Eccles & Rouse, Inc. the Dynamo House is the renovation of the former Narragansett Electric power plant on the Providence River into a mixed-use office, hotel and retail development that will include the Heritage Harbor Museum. Before that, he practiced law with Edwards & Angell, LLP.
Handy worked for individuals, companies and non-profits on land use, real estate and environmental matters. He also represented many agencies of the city of Warwick during the Chafee administration. He has significant litigation experience in Rhode Island and Massachusetts courts. Handy is a founder and past president of the Pawtucket Armory Association that renovated the historic Pawtucket Armory, turning it into a center for the arts and arts education. He serves as a Rhode Island advisor to the Conservation Law Foundation and is a past president of The Gamm Theatre.
Handy graduated from Harvard College, cum laude, in 1990 and has his JD and master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School (1996). He is admitted to practice in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
