Golfers at the Kent Washington Association of Realtors (KWAOR) 19th Annual Golf Tournament raised $8,000 for the Association's annual charity event. Under the leadership of golf tournament chair Mark McLaughlin, the association was able to present checks to South County Habitat for Humanity in Shannock and Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center in Warwick. "Being able to stand up at the dinner and provide South County Habitat and Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center with their donations made all the hard work over the past months worth it". Checks were presented on October 12 during the association's annual election, installation, meeting & recognition Night at the Quonset O Club.
Ninety golfers turned out for the September 19 Tournament, held at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club in Charlestown. Also contributing to the success of the event were four platinum sponsors, a hole-in-one sponsor, a lunch sponsor, a dinner sponsor, a cart sponsor, and eleven tee sign sponsors. Thirty area businesses as well as members of the tournament committee donated prizes for the raffle and silent auction.
The day included boxed lunch on the course and dinner, with prizes awarded to the top teams in the men's, women's and mixed categories.
