Portland, ME The 2015 Maine Association of Realtors (MAR) Commercial Realtor of the Year was awarded to Tony McDonald, a broker and partner of CBRE | The Boulos Company.

Every year, an award is given to the realtor who has made significant contributions to the advancement of the real estate profession and the community at large during the current year. This award recognizes the effort and work expended in the interest of their fellow realtors, their profession and community and a nod to the awardee’s leadership qualities in the spirit of competition.

A partner of the firm, McDonald joined the company in 1987. Not only does he hold a Maine and New Hampshire real estate license, he also has a Mechanical Engineering degree, an Ocean Engineering degree (from MIT) and an MBA in Finance.

McDonald holds the CCIM designation granted by the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute and the SIOR designation which is conferred by the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He serves on the board of directors of the New England Chapter of SIOR, is on the board of directors of the Gulf of Maine Research Institute and the President of the Board of Directors for the Coastal Humane Society.

He had a very successful year in 2015. He was involved in dozens of deals, closing a total of over $17.6 million in sales and almost 500,000 s/f of leased space throughout Maine. Some of these transactions involve some very recognizable properties such as a Bank of America lease at One Monument Square, the sale of the Timber Ridge Apartments in Sanford and leases for Village Candle and Wasco at Wells Business Park.
